2021 Tannat
Description
Tannat is a grape varietal from Southwestern France but that now predominantly grows in Uruguay. This wine has a deep purple color packed with flavors of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate together with a firm tannin structure. Tannat is known for having some of the highest levels of the antioxidant Resveratrol. The winemaker was inspired to make this wine from a great experience from a knowledgeable waiter at a small Spanish restaurant.
In 2019 Warner worked with his partner vineyard to add this varietal to VIN312’s special selection. You will notice a deep inky color of dark ruby or purple as the wine slides down the glass. This wine will definitely keep you interested throughout the glass as you will find yourself swirling and smelling the aromas each time to go to take a sip. This wine pairs excellently with meats that have fat such as Ribeye or Prosciutto.
Oak Aging: 12 months on medium plus toasted French Oak Barrels.
